What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Setter position at PCX Aerosystems, LLC?
Select and prepare a variety of tooling packages for manual machines, and N.C. work centers. Responsible for securing and pre-setting tooling for N.C. machining operations.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Work with tooling setup sheets.
- Use standard tools and gauges to check and set tools.
- Inspect tools for sharpness at completion of operation.
- Route applicable tooling to cutter grind, orders replacement, or return to crib location as required.
- Maintain tooling records and inventory.
- Performs crib attendant duties as required.
- Will apply shop-related experience, with knowledge of machining practices, shop mathematics, and cutting tool geometry and applications.
- Must be able to proficiently set tools with minimum supervision.
- Must be capable and willing to assist or train other employees as needed.
- Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor as appropriate.
- Actively participate in various aspects of Continuous Improvement projects which may include but is not limited to 5S, TPM, kaizen events, and set-up reduction events, which is aligned with the commitment to continuous improvement activities in Article II of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Must work safely at all times. Participate in safety improvement initiatives by raising any safety concerns and helping to come up with corrective actions.
