Summary
This position is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate and stack materials. The position is also responsible for verifying all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Verifies and records incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items for incoming and outgoing shipments. Verify information against bill of lading, invoices and sales orders
- Visually examines incoming shipments, documents damages or shortages to shipment and receives PO based on visual inspection freight and items listed on packing list
- Routes items to departments
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Operate lift truck or use hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area
- General upkeep of shipping area, keeping floor and areas always clear of debris
- Maintains in-process inventory at work areas by delivering and opening materials and supplies
- Receives and verifies materials and supplies from production for placing back into inventory
- Work with team to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues
- Maintains equipment by completing pre-use inspections and submitting fix tickets as needed
- Assisting in performing cycle counting duties.

Competencies and Skills
- Familiar with WMS/inventory software
- Process-oriented with excellent attention to detail in a fast paced, high stress environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and on a team with limited supervision
- Ability to handle multiple tasks along with excellent time management skills
- Flexibility to work across multiple operations including packing, assembly and production
- Ability to demonstrate and apply PD’s workplace values
- Flexibility to travel between multiple PD locations

Education/Certification
- Minimum of 3 years forklift experience with certification or capacity to gain certification
- High School Diploma/GED and 1-3 years Manufacturing, Inventory Control or Logistics experience
Experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in assembly, packaging or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge or experience with inventory control systems information systems
- General usage of, Outlook, Excel, Word Processing
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting may be required throughout the workday
- Work in a warehouse environment with other department staff
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work at all Solid locations if needed
