Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Plant Manager to oversee the operations of our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record in manufacturing management, process optimization, and team development. In this role, you will ensure that our products are produced efficiently, with the highest quality standards, and delivered on time to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production goals are met.
- Ensure the plant operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Manage production schedules, materials inventory, and equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
2. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, ensuring high performance and morale.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop training programs to enhance skill sets and ensure safety standards are met.
3. Quality Control & Process Improvement
- Implement and monitor quality control standards to ensure all products meet or exceed company specifications.
- Continuously assess and improve manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency, waste reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer to address any product or manufacturing challenges.
4. Budgeting & Cost Management
- Manage plant budget, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures where applicable.
- Ensure that production targets are met within budget and on schedule.
- Develop reports for senior management on production performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the plant adheres to all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety training and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
- Respond to safety concerns promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
6. Collaboration with Other Departments
- Work closely with the sales, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure timely production and delivery of products.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership to address operational challenges and ensure alignment with company goals.
Required Qualifications
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing management, experience in the spa or pool industry is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
- Expertise in quality control and production scheduling.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with spa manufacturing and hydrotherapy products is a plus.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and proactively address issues.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of manufacturing software, production scheduling, and inventory management tools.
- Safety Focused: In-depth understanding of safety and compliance requirements in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with plant management software (ERP systems, etc.).
