JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer with Wi-Fi domain testing experience to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of networking and wireless products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Wi-Fi testing, automation, debugging, and validation across multiple builds and releases. This role requires strong collaboration with Release Management, Development, and Automation teams to ensure seamless testing and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Wi-Fi Domain Testing:
Design, develop, and execute test cases for Wi-Fi routers, access points, mesh networks, and networking features.
Perform functional, performance, security, and interoperability testing of Wi-Fi devices and services.
Debug and analyze Wi-Fi connectivity issues, throughput performance, roaming, latency, and interference.
Conduct RF testing, including signal strength, attenuation, and multi-band validation.
Utilize tools like Wireshark, Omnipeek, iPerf, TCPDUMP, and other network analyzers to capture and analyze Wi-Fi traffic.
Test Planning & Execution:
Design test scenarios and test cases for new features and enhancements as per the acceptance criteria.
Develop automated test cases for sprint, stable, and release builds to validate against acceptance criteria.
Perform verification of new features and execute release testing on sprint and release builds.
Conduct special test runs as per requests from Release Management and development teams and share the results.
Work with cross-functional teams (Release Management, Triage, Development, and Testing teams) to reproduce field issues and share logs.
Collaborate with Release Management, Automation, and INFRA teams to debug and reproduce issues.
Assist the development team in debugging by:
Recreating reported issues on engineering and debug builds for further analysis.
Verifying defect fixes on sprint builds.
Automation & Reporting:
Execute automation scripts on sprint, stable, and release builds, and share reports with all stakeholders.
Support the Triage team by analyzing root causes, providing detailed logs, and recreating issues.
Participate in scrum meetings to discuss issues, test results, and findings.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2-6 years of experience in Wi-Fi testing, network testing, or software quality assurance.
Strong expertise in Wi-Fi protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be - Wi-Fi 6/6E/7) and networking concepts.
Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, IPv6, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi sniffers, spectrum analyzers, and packet capture tools.
Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, Robot Framework).
Familiarity with Linux, embedded systems, and scripting languages (Python, Shell, TCL, etc.).
Understanding of QoS, MU-MIMO, Beamforming, OFDMA, and Wi-Fi security mechanisms.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in wireless and networking environments.?
