Role Overview:
The Communications Intern will support earned media relations, organic social media, and measurement efforts for both the PDI and GasBuddy brands. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in B2B and consumer tech communications, contribute to high-visibility projects such as the annual Connections Live event, and build a portfolio through content creation and media engagement. Additionally, the intern will benefit from mentorship by a high-performing team and exposure to company subject matter experts. This internship is ideal for individuals passionate about communications, PR, and digital storytelling who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
\n- Assist in earned media relations, including media list building, outreach, and monitoring.
- Support content creation for press materials, media pitches, and storytelling initiatives.
- Conduct research on media trends, journalist interests, and PR opportunities.
- Develop and manage organic social media content calendars and strategy.
- Assist with content creation, social media operations, analytics, and community engagement.
- Support pre-event media and social strategies for the Connections Live event.
- Contribute to event content development, including speaker materials and promotional content.
- Track and analyze PR and social media performance metrics to assess impact.
- Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects and internal reporting.
- Rising junior/senior in college or recent graduate with a focus on Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Media Management, or Media/Multimedia.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with public relations tactics, including media relations and narrative development.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.
- Creativity and an understanding of brand storytelling (basic design skills a plus).
- Experience with PR tools, social media analytics, and digital content creation.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a high-performing team.
- Proactive, resourceful, and accountable with a strong sense of initiative.
