Overview :
The Senior Manager of Data Management will be responsible for leading and managing the execution and overall performance of data management initiatives within the organization. This role includes overseeing product management, resource allocation, vendor relationships, project budgeting, and IT governance.
Responsibilities
Product Management : Roadmap Development : Work with product owner to define and manage the product roadmap for data management initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
Product Management : Work with product owner to create and refine product features, evaluate, and prioritize data management projects based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with organizational priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that data management solutions meet business needs.
Resource Management : Resource Allocation : Allocate resources effectively to ensure the successful delivery of data management projects. This includes managing team assignments, workload distribution, and capacity planning.
Budget Management : Develop and manage the budget for the data management department, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.
Vendor Management : Vendor Relationships : Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors providing data management tools and services.
Contract Negotiation : Negotiate contracts and service agreements with vendors to ensure the best terms and conditions for the organization.
IT Governance : Service Transition : Oversee the transition of data management services and solutions from development to operational status, ensuring smooth handovers and minimal disruption.
Change Management : Comply with PDS IT change management processes to ensure that data management initiatives are effectively integrated into the organization.
Compliance : Ensure all data management activities comply with relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
Qualifications
Proven experience in product management and resource management.
Proficient in Data Warehouse, Data Integration, and Business Intelligence technologies.
8 years of experience in related field.
6 years of experience in data management leadership role.
Strong understanding of data management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
Preferred
3 years of experience in Snowflake.
Led Data Lake implementation.
Led Database Administration operations
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the work.
Leadership and mentorship abilities.
Ability to communicate future desired state of department or function.
Can function as advisor regarding projects and operations.
Ability to meet critical schedules and accomplish complex issues.
Ability to manage daily operations while making progress on longer term goals.
