ABOUT PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY OF ALBANY

Pediatric Dentistry of Albany, in Albany, NY is looking to hire a full-time Dental Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator.

Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a dental office or related healthcare setting (strongly preferred)
- Ability to work effectively with others and maintain a calm and professional demeanor
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of patient management and office systems (Practice Management Charting, Scheduling, etc.)
Dental Assistant Responsibilities
Assist providers and ensure the patient is always attended to in the treatment roomGreet patients in the waiting area and escort them to the operatoryAssist the dentist with the administration of treatment at the chair sidePromote good dental health practices by providing instruction on oral hygiene (flossing, brushing)Maintain a sterile and neat working environment, following current infection control proceduresReview and update patient health history, make chart entries, and ensure the completion of necessary formsFamiliarize patients with the details of their dental visit and provide emotional support as neededAssist the Dental Hygienist with X-rays, patient prep, and treatment room setup / cleaningStock operatory and maintain inventory of clinical suppliesSet up trays and instruments based on the daily scheduleAssist with front office duties when requiredMaintain patient confidentiality in line with company policiesConduct preventative maintenance on dental equipmentPatient Care Coordinator Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impressionCompile and scan patient documentation, noting any exceptionsUpdate patient demographic, insurance, and health history records with attention to detailInform clinical staff of patient arrival and reason for the appointmentDiscuss financial responsibility and assist with payment arrangements as necessaryManage the patient workflow efficiently from check-in to departureSchedule patient appointments based on provider availability and treatment lengthVerify insurance coverage for same-day patientsConfirm appointments and ensure continuity of care for existing patientsProvide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly and professional demeanor over the phoneMonday and Tuesday 8 : 30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 30 p.m. and Friday 7 : 30 a.m. to 2 : 30 p.m.
