PDS Tech Commercial is searching for a skilled Mechanical / Structural Design Engineer to join our cutting-edge R&D team on an innovative and high-impact project. You’ll play a pivotal role in transforming a four-passenger aircraft into an unmanned, hybrid-electric vehicle, pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of an exciting and groundbreaking program.
About the Role :
As a Mechanical / Structural Design Engineer , you will lead the design and modification of a production aircraft, transforming it into an unmanned, hybrid-electric-powered vehicle. You will be responsible for designing critical components, contributing to prototype development, and collaborating with a team of skilled engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.
Required Skills / Experience :
Engineering degree, minimum of ten years applicable aircraft engineering experience
Substantial new airplane program design engineering experience
Ability to quickly lay out new design concepts, prepare design reviews and create prototype engineering dwgs
Experience designing sheet metal, machined, and 3D printed parts
Self-Starter, able to work with minimal oversight
SolidWorks (preferred), Catia V5 (acceptable)
ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
Helpful Skills / Experience :
Previous airframe structural modification experience
Previous electric or hybrid aircraft experience
Preliminary stress sizing for design
Systems Installation experience
Liaison engineering experience
Composites design experience
Hands-on experience / able to help with prototype build

Pay Details : 40.00 to 63.00 per hour
