PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and lead the design and development of cutting-edge water and waste systems for the aerospace industry. As a subject matter expert, you'll play a pivotal role in designing complex mechanical systems that ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of aircraft water and waste management. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design of potable water and waste mechanical systems, including equipment selection and 3D modeling.
Oversee development testing, produce substantiation documents, and generate test plans and reports.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as systems engineers and suppliers, to ensure successful project completion.
Review and approve design data, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout all phases of technical maturity.
Resolve engineering challenges related to design requirements, material selection, and coordination issues.
Develop qualification documents and work with management and supply chain to ensure timely testing and validation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding them in solving complex design problems.
Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve design issues and ensure compliance with requirements.
What We re Looking For:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering with 5 years of related experience, or equivalent education/experience.
Expertise in fluid power systems, including valves, pumps, blowers, fans, plumbing, and pneumatic seal designs.
Proficiency in CAD modeling and 3D design, including creating detailed drawings and layouts.
Practical experience in potable water/waste and gray water aerospace design practices.
Experience in interpreting and creating equipment specifications, conducting verification testing, and generating qualification documentation for ATA Chapter 38 or similar systems.
Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT), and experience with tolerance stack-ups and fits.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Siemens NX CAD, Teamcenter PLM, or similar tools.
3D modeling experience using CATIA, NX, or other equivalent software.
Experience with simulation tools like CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
Background in aerospace systems integration and electro-mechanical systems.
Familiarity with RTCA DO-160 qualification and LabVIEW or other data acquisition systems.

Pay Details: 68.00 to 70.00 per hour
