Research & Development Prototype Fabricator – Precision Craftsmanship in Aerospace Innovation
Location : Torrance, CA 90504
Job Type : Full-Time, Consultant (12 Months)
Shift : Monday – Friday, First Shift (5 AM – 1 : 30 PM)
Pay Rate : 28.26 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a highly skilled Research & Development Prototype Fabricator to support cutting-edge aerospace projects in Torrance, CA . In this role, you’ll work alongside engineers to fabricate, modify, and assemble prototype components , playing a crucial part in research and development efforts. Your expertise in vertical mill operation, manual lathe work, and TIG welding will drive innovation and precision in aerospace manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
- Precision Machining – Operate manual lathes and vertical milling machines to produce custom one-off parts and modify existing components.
- CNC Machining – Utilize 3-axis CNC machinery for high-precision tasks. (Prior CNC experience is highly desirable.)
- Fabrication & Welding – Perform TIG welding, sheet metal work, and hand forming to support test stands and other R&D projects.
- Wire EDM Support – While direct experience isn’t mandatory, familiarity with wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) is beneficial.
- Problem Solving – Apply expert judgment to develop creative fabrication solutions, often working with engineers who may not have complete design specifications.
- Project Execution – Manage multiple projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely completion.
- Equipment Utilization – Primarily use manual vertical mills, manual lathes, and TIG welders for fabrication and rework tasks.

Pay Details : 28.26 per hour
