Wire Design & Install Engineer – Elevate Aerospace Innovation
Location : San Antonio, TX
Job Type : Full-time; Consultant (6 Months)
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Pay Rate : 66 - 76 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Wire Design & Install Engineer to join our dynamic aerospace team in San Antonio, TX. This role is pivotal in developing state-of-the-art electrical systems for aircraft, ensuring top-tier performance and reliability. You’ll be at the forefront of electrical product design, wire harness development, and installation solutions, working on industry-leading aerospace projects.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
Design and maintain cable / wire harnesses, electrical assemblies, and installation systems.
Develop and refine electrical product designs, including equipment racks, power panels, antennas, and cable routing.
Perform detailed design analysis and technical reviews, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.
Provide engineering design disposition for discrepancies, including rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests.
Document processes, specifications, and procedures supporting electrical design and manufacturing.
Collaborate in the technical review of supplier capabilities to support sourcing decisions.
Work under general direction, contributing to mission-critical aviation programs.
What You Bring to the Team Required Qualifications :
Five or more years of experience in wire design and installation engineering.
Proficiency in wire design tools such as Mentor Capital, MAPPER, WIRS, EDART, or equivalent avionics wire design systems.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Highly motivated team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and / or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies : 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with requirements management software such as DOORS.
Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Engineering throughout the development lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with aircraft or avionics development programs.

Pay Details : 66.00 to 76.00 per hour
