Role
PDW is seeking a skilled Logistics Manager to join our team, leading the organization’s transport operations from FTL to small parcel. The ideal candidate will thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, have excellent critical thinking skills, and play a pivotal role in shaping and operating PDW’s manufacturing operations for multiple best-in-class sUAS products.
Responsibilities
- Work as a continuation of the Logistics and Inventory Control team in moving material in and out of PDW production operations
- Select and manage outside resources including carriers, 3PLs, brokers, and export consultants to ensure on time, compliant, and efficient freight delivery
- Understand and implement by case “best path” logistics for maximum value to both PDW and customer
- Handle brokers, customs, international, and ITAR shipments on a routine basis
- Problem solves stoppages, gaps, challenges in unique shipping situations and presents potential solutions to management
- Partner with internal compliance resources to ensure appropriate classification and handling of export restricted goods
- Partner with internal supply chain resources to maximize time and cost efficiencies in incoming material movements.
- Participate in updating of standard procedures and work instructions as required to deliver world class shipping systems
- Assist fulfillment to ensure conformance in the pack out process and adherence to dangerous material handling including battery transport by both ground and air.
- Maintain accurate documentation and status updates including managing redlined drawings on the production floor, through the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and CM (Configuration Management) tools
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years experience as an Inventory and Logistics Specialist in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment
- Direct experience handling international small parcel and freight movements including brokerage and export restricted goods (EAR/ITAR classifications)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Conscientious and responsible with a sense of urgency accustomed to accelerated changes
- Experience managing implementation and refinement of the production operations arm of corporate ERP/MRP system.
- Strong working knowledge of configuration control policies, BOM management, and quality assurance controls.
- Must be in Huntsville, Alabama market or willing to relocate.
ITAR Requirement
