What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Maintenance Team Member position at PDX Hotel?
We are looking for Hotel Maintenance team members to help take care of our hotel’s infrastructure. In this role, candidate should be organized and proactive. Hotel industry experience is a plus. Familiarity with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems is essential, as is a commitment to meeting health and safety standards. The primary goal will be to ensure our hotel premises are safe and functional for guests and employees alike.
Duties include:
Work schedule of 9am-6pm. Inspect hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies and facilities Organize repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests Act fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g. power outages) Find ways to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy Manage relationships with contractors and service providers Maintain budgets, expenses and daily activity logs In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems Problem-solving aptitude Excellent organizational and leadership skills Perform interior and exterior property maintenance Complete maintenance request orders in a timely manner. Change out light bulbs, floor repairs, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repair, equipment maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen and laundry equipment, HVAC, guest rooms, meeting rooms, public area spaces, swimming pool and spa Have working ability with HVAC, electrical, plumbing as needed. Test pool and spa chemicals daily and maintain logs Conduct periodic tours of the exterior perimeter for debris and trash removal Check exterior lighting and irrigation periodically.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance, grooming and clothing. Wear name tag when working. Proficiency in English. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times. If a cigarette smoker, know that smoking is not permitted in the view of hotel guests, at any time. Must be always attentive, courteous and efficient in the dealings with the clients, guests, managers and all other employees.
