JOB TITLE: VP of Product

STATUS: Full-Time, Remote
JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Product with a start-up mindset to lead our company's product strategy and drive innovation. As the VP of Product you will be responsible for leading strategic direction, development, and execution of the PE Ventures product roadmap. This is a high impact role reporting to the CEO of Propel Education. The VP of Product will own the product vision, ensure alignment with business goals, and collaboratively lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions to reshape the future of professional learning for teachers. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of the Learn platform.
EXPECTATIONS:
The day-to-day job responsibilities will fluctuate seasonally throughout the school year. Below is a list of the job responsibilities overall.
- Develop and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for PE Ventures, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and goals.
- Drive a cohesive product roadmap and model growth mindset through cross-functional collaboration and execution discipline.
- Provides insight and direction to the Learn team as needed to ensure alignment with overarching organizational goals and objectives.
- Serve as a strategic liaison with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, delivering transparency, data-driven insights, and ensuring alignment on product decisions for PE Ventures.
- Balance short-term tactical goals with long-term strategic priorities to accelerate growth and market differentiation for the division.
- Lead efforts to enter new verticals, identifying growth opportunities, validating hypotheses, and tailoring product offerings to meet distinct market demands
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning by leveraging internal and external resources promoting alignment with company goals.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of developers, ensuring scalable processes and best practices fit for a fast-growing, product environment.
- Regularly communicate the PE Ventures product strategy, progress, and metrics to foster buy-in and visibility across the organization.
- Standard availability Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 PM CST with the flexibility to book outside of standard business hours based on customer needs

HOW POSITION WILL BE EVALUATED (include frequency): Evaluations will occur twice yearly. Informal evaluations will also be conducted as needed during 1:1 meetings.
REQUIRED SKILLS, BEHAVIOR, OR KNOWLEDGE
1. 3 years in senior product leadership, managing full lifecycle of products in complex, high-growth environments with multiple product lines.
2. 3 years managing and scaling multi-line product teams, with a proven ability to foster a customer-driven culture that balances innovation with measurable outcomes.
3. Startup & Scaling Experience: Background in Series A/B startups, driving accelerated growth and scaling across verticals.
4. Vertical Expansion & Go-to-Market: Demonstrated experience identifying, validating, and driving multi-vertical product expansions with a successful track record in market penetration.
5. EdTech Knowledge (Preferred): Understanding of EdTech market dynamics, trends, and regulatory considerations.
