Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Reports to: Building Principal/Special Education Director
Compensation: Speech/Language Salary Schedule
Location: District Wide
Overtime Status: Exempt
Qualifications: Meets Arkansas licensing requirements.
Position summary: Assumes responsibility for assessing and implementing speech/language therapy for identified students K-12. Follows federal, state, and local guidelines and collaborates with other staff to meet the unique needs of each individual student.
Job Description: The Speech Language Pathologist shall perform all job functions and assume all responsibilities in the job description. These include, but are not limited to:
- Screening and assessing students to determine eligibility and placement
- Providing direct and indirect therapy to identified students
- Preparing annual reviews and Individual Education Plans on a timely basis
- Serving as a member of the multidisciplinary team
- Assisting with transition from early childhood to kindergarten
- Collaborating with regular education and other special education staff
- Actively participating in Professional Learning Communities
- Completing required professional development
- Maintaining positive contact with parents
- Assisting with statewide mandated assessments
- Progress monitoring throughout the school year
- Other duties as assigned
