What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Weekend Advocate position at Peace at Home Family Shelter?
Peace at Home Family Shelter is seeking a part time weekend advocate to cover Fridays and Saturdays shift from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. The part time weekend advocate provides support, and advocacy to current shelter residents and Crisis Line callers, promote self-reliance by creating an empathic and caring atmosphere during the weekend shift. Performs required security related tasks and administrative services for the program during the shift. The position requires working on-site in the shelter during assigned work hours.
Qualifications:
- Education.-Associate’s Degree in human services or related field or High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in social services.
- Experience.-Working in a communal living environment is preferred, but not required.
- Technical.-Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish preferred, but not required. Required basic computer skills.
- Social Skills.-Must be dependable, mature, must be able to respond appropriately in emergency situations, must be able to work well independently and as a member of a team.
- Working Conditions
- Must successfully pass criminal and central registry checks.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.
- Occasional out-of-town travel required for ongoing training provided by the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
