Description
Purpose
To supervise and ensure the delivery of coffee and other products to metro area accounts.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties (95%)
Route Planning and Coverage (35%)
- Works with the Customer Service team to set up local qualifying accounts on Delivery routes.
- Directs the Delivery Support Specialist to back up on delivery routes. Performs delivery backup as needed. Also helps with order packing / order fulfillment.
- Plans alternate Holiday delivery routes, and helps to cover routes during these weeks.
- Updates delivery routes and schedules to make sure all accounts are serviced to our standards.
- Continually works to improve route planning and overall department efficiency.
Supervises Delivery Team (30%)
Supervises Route Representatives (van drivers and bike couriers) and Delivery Support Specialist; includes hiring, training, job description maintenance, leading team meetings, and providing feedback (annual review and regular feedback).Manages time, including : verifying labor hours for payroll, approving PTO (track on Vacation / Travel calendar and Time Management software), and creating / managing the absence coverage plan. Works to manage overtime hours.Manages the team budget, including signing off on credit card expenses and reimbursements for the team and ordering / approving purchases for supplies / parts needed for the team to do their jobs.Conducts ride-alongs with Route Representatives (van / bike) Checks for efficiency and expected hours required to service each route.Coordinates order pickups from local vendors.Serves as leadership from Delivery Team on Safety CommitteeDirect Store Delivery Program Management (15%)
Trains Delivery Team on best practices, account management, and sets Peace Coffee standards with how each DSD-account will be serviced by the Delivery Driver / Route Representative responsible for the store.With IT support, manage third party automated ordering systems for accuracy. Troubleshoot any errors to keep deliveries accurate and on schedule. Train Delivery Team members to accurately manage their ERP orders to prevent system errors.Spot-checks DSD stores for sufficient inventory, proper shelf labeling, and ensures proper coffee rotation on shelves.Gives feedback to the Delivery Driver / Route Representative responsible for servicing the account to help optimize sales.Gives feedback to the Sales Account Representative on store performance.Works with Peace Coffee Account Manager and Grocery Store Managers to provide support to help set up displays, and helps to manage shelf resets in stores.Sales Collaboration & Support (10%)
Communicates upcoming sales and promotions to the Delivery Team.Coordinates with Delivery Team and Sales Team on store promotions and display setups on regular delivery routes.Coordinates patch deliveries to accounts when necessary.Arranges courier services as required.Organize monthly meetings to discuss opportunities and store performance with the Sales Team.Record keeping (3%)
Updates delivery day and delivery drivers in NS for all accounts that have been offered delivery terms, including alternate holiday delivery drivers / days.Tracks backordered items and works to make sure all orders are delivered in full, and accurately accounted for in NS.Closes out Warehouse Management Software (WMS) open tasks and partially filled sales orders.Equipment Maintenance / Coordination (2%)
Coordinates service needs for bulk grinders in the field.Plans bulk bin rotation.Makes sure the delivery fleet is maintained to keep all vehicles available for deliveries, catering, and events.Coordinates vehicle use across departments, reserving rental vehicles when necessary.Supports bike maintenance efforts.Non-Essential Duties (5%)

Qualifications
Passion for Peace Coffee's mission and producing quality coffee.Ability to work both alone and as part of a team.Intermediate math skills and ability to proficiently work with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive and Gmail.Basic understanding of databases required, previous experience working with databases is a plus.Ability to proactively identify and offer solutions to solve problems required.Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner.Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, manage details, ensure the highest level of accuracy and timeliness in a fast paced and changing work environment.Ability to be flexible while working on multiple tasks at once.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form professional relationships with a variety of people (internal and external) and teams.Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner.Ability to understand and obey all applicable traffic laws at all times when driving or riding for Peace Coffee.Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.High school diploma, or equivalent, required. Some post-secondary school is a plus.Valid Minnesota Driver's License and clean driving record required.Physical Requirements
Work environment : When in the production facility this job is performed in a warehouse where conditions can be hot, dusty and there is a continuous industrial noise. Ability to work in this environment daily is required.This job requires standing on concrete, bending, walking and lifting as needed; could include covering for others where this would be on a continuous basis throughout the day.This job operates in a clerical office setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets and fax machines.This role requires the ability to sit or stand at a computer or in meetings for extended periods of time.This role also requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary to complete filing.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.Ability to use cleaning products of medium toxicity.Ability to operate a large vehicle in all weather conditions.Peace Coffee Mission, Values and Competencies

Salary Range : $55,000 - $60,000 Annually
Benefits : Health / Dental / Short-Term Disability Insurances - first day of the month following hire date, 401k with match - after 90 days.
