What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Public Safety Officer position at peace?
Duties include but are not limited to enforcement of University’s rules and policies; responsibility for preventing and suppressing crime, protecting life and property; patrolling assigned areas on foot to ensure personal, building, and equipment is secure; maintenance of patrol logs, recording of occurrences, and completing necessary paperwork; informing and warning violator of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles; and working with local law enforcement agencies. Duties also may require use of computers to input and retrieve data. Officers are expected to comply with the University’s and the Department’s rules, regulations, and policies; perform his/her duties independently, utilize proper judgment, and maintain a high degree of professionalism. This position is eligible for shift differential for hours work past 3:00 pm.
