Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of rents and receivables. This role is responsible for maintaining up-to-date records, contacting residents regarding outstanding balances, coordinating payment plans, and initiating legal proceedings when necessary. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately input rents and reimbursements into the property management software, Appfolio, ensuring proper allocation to the correct resident and property portal.
- Contact residents with delinquent balances to discuss outstanding payments and arrange resolution.
- Develop and document payment plans when necessary and ensure accurate record-keeping in the system.
- Communicate with the appropriate Magisterial District Judge (MJD) offices regarding the filing of Landlord-Tenant Complaints (LTs).
- Prepare and submit filing paperwork to the accounts payable team for check processing.
- Deliver LT paperwork and payments to the designated MJD office if/when necessary.
- Collaborate with the team to track and coordinate upcoming LT hearings and lockouts.
- Maintain professional and compassionate communication with residents while upholding company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience in accounts receivable, property management, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with property management software, particularly Appfolio, is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
