Role involves collaborating with clinical departments, physician clinics, revenue cycle, finance, and organizational integrity to ensure all charge codes are accurate, up-to-date, and complaint with federal and state regulations. Oversees the development and implementation of price transparency strategies to make healthcare pricing more accessible to consumers in compliance with federal and state requirements.
Details of the Position:
- Ensures that the CDM complies with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as payer-specific guidelines. Monitors regulatory changes and industry trends and conducts regular audits of the CDM to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversees the annual update of the Charge Description Master (CDM) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current regulations and payer requirements. Implements changes to the CDM based on updates to coding standards (CPT, HCPCS) as needed.
- Ensures that the CDM is effectively integrated with Epic, the electronic health record (EHR) and billing system. Participates in system upgrades and implementations, ensuring that the CDM is accurately reflected and functional in all systems.
- Provides training and support to clinical and revenue cycle staff on CDM-related processes and changes. Develops educational materials and conducts regular training sessions to promote understanding and compliance.
- Oversees the collection, management, publication, and regulatory submission of hospital pricing data in compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures related to CDM maintenance and hospital price transparency and ensures policies are communicated and adhered to across the organization.
- Oversees the daily operation of the CDM team. Manages, coaches, mentors, and trains caregivers. Conducts performance monitoring and evaluations. Manages workflow and allocation of resources to meet the needs of PeaceHealth entities, providers, and other customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Required in Business Administration, Finance, or Healthcare Administration.
- Master's Degree Preferred
- Minimum of 5 years Experience in finance or healthcare, including revenue cycle, revenue integrity, charge capture, compliance, pricing and/or reimbursement. Required and
