Directs, controls and is accountable for leading major system-wide and activities across PeaceHealth. In addition, serves as the strategy leader for the assigned network. Develops long and short-term business strategies, operational plans and oversees implementation. Manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction. Ensures quality, service and regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility. Provides high level market surveillance, targeting, physician relations, business development, and private equity relationships to facilitate and direct the decision making of PeaceHealth's growth initiatives, including new ventures. Ensures understanding of the organizational business, strategic and operational planning needs in support of the Mission, Vision and Values of PeaceHealth. The Sys Dir Strategy must ensure that quality and performance improvement activities meet their target conditions. The Sys Dir Strategy is responsible to adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards for their areas and to be continuously ready for any survey on those regulations or standards.

- Acts as a resource for system-wide strategic initiatives with major impacts across the organization.
- In partnership with other Directors of Strategy and business development staff, understands and determines opportunities for affiliations and partnerships in all networks across PeaceHealth.
- Identifies potential acquisition and partnership opportunities across the networks and at the system level.
- Oversees staff of physician liaison and business development professionals to drive business opportunities and ensure issues are resolved timely.
- Manages relationships with Private Equity investors.
- Identifies, leads, and reviews business development and growth opportunities at the system and network levels which includes forecasting market trends, projecting future trends, and conducting research.
- Participates in due diligence and implementation of approved mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations, and partnership opportunities at the system and network levels.
- Supervises assigned caregivers; to include hire, train, mentor, corrective actions, work schedules, time off requests, and performance evaluations. Assists with the department budget, tracking expenditures, purchase of office supplies, etc. with budget authority as delegated for assigned areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
- Master's Degree Preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years Strategic planning, consulting and/or business development experience.
- Minimum of 5 years Management experience.
- Experience working in a high performing culture and matrix structure.
- Hospital or health care related administration experience preferred.
- Experience working with leadership in large, complex not-for-profit healthcare organization preferred.
- Experience in leading and implementing joint ventures, alliances, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions preferred.
- Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability.
- Ability to act in a consulting capacity.
- Ability to formulate and operationalize new concepts and ideas for improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple demands and short time frames.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $189,000 – $247,000. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
