What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager position at Peach's Restaurant?
Job Summary
This assistant management position is for our Venice Peach's restaurant location, however, you may train at multiple locations. They work in both the back of the house and front of the house in all positions as a cook, dishwasher, server, and host under the general manager. Restaurant operation hours are 6:00am-2:30pm 7 days a week. Opening shifts can be as early as 5:00am. Our restaurants serve breakfast and lunch to a high volume of guests. Weekend availability is a must as those are Peach's busiest days.
Essential Duties
- Assume managerial duties in the absence of the GM.
- Know floor plan including table numbers and server's sections.
- Enthusiastically greet and seat guests with warm, friendly service and ensure guests are happy when they leave.
- Provide a friendly greeting for guests, confirm the number in the party, and ask for seating preference and special needs.
- Escort guests to table, walking at their pace, assist if necessary and inform server of special needs.
- Thank guests when they are leaving, ask them to return, inquire about their dining experience by asking how everything was.
- Communicate with kitchen when large parties arrive.
- Maintain restaurant at the level necessary to meet or exceed the company standards.
- Responsible for new hire training: store operations, company policies and specific tasks.
- Utilize labor effectively to meet budgets while ensuring high quality of quality, service and cleanliness.
- Follow procedures to maintain the safety and security of all employees, customers and company assets.
- Uphold company food safety, food handling and sanitation requirements.
- Manage restaurant cash control by preparing bank deposits, daily cash reports and maintaining an accurate restaurant change fund.
- Ensure product quality at all times and an appearance of cleanliness in the restaurant and staff.
- Regularly oversee dining room and restrooms for cleanliness and take action where needed.
- Responsible for end of the day restroom cleaning. May delegate duties.
- Prepare the cash station for the next day.
- Prepare weekly schedule ensuring proper coverage and minimal overtime.
- Exemplify team work with a "can-do" attitude.
- Lead by example.
Kitchen duties
- Ensure opening/closing checklists are completed to specifications.
- Enforce portion and quality control.
- Ensure food is changed out correctly.
- Receive and check deliveries.
- Ensure waste is documented and kept to a minimum.
- Prepare vendor ordering.
- Conduct inventory twice per month.
Physical Demands
- Consistently stands and walks for entire shift.
- Consistently handles items with hands such as to-go orders and money.
- Consistently reaches and stoops for product preparation and serving plates.
- Consistently reaches and lifts items weighing no more than 50 pounds.
- Consistently pushes and pulls items such as doors and chairs.
- Consistently lifts for product preparation, stocking and inventory.
