We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. Duties
- Safely operate a bus according to established routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit.
- Manage behavior among children and maintain discipline on the bus.
- Educate passengers about safety procedures and bus rules.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school officials as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
- Address any mechanical issues promptly and report them as necessary.
- Assist passengers with special needs or those requiring paratransit services.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, incidents, and passenger counts.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on the bus.
- Experience working with children, including behavior management techniques.
- Ability to educate passengers on safety protocols and communicate effectively.
- Bilingual skills are a plus for effective communication with diverse populations.
- Strong writing skills for documentation purposes related to trips and incidents.
- Previous experience in childcare or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
