Position Summary
The Financial Operations Accounting Associate will perform various financial and accounting tasks to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities will include assisting with month-end and year-end close activities, financial analysis, accounts payable & receivable, back-office Broker-Dealer and RIA commission and fee duties, internal management reporting and operational accounting/reporting support. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
To ensure the Financial Operations Accounting Associate has the basic knowledge of the securities industry, candidate will be expected to pass the FINRA SIE exam upon hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and create internal reports
- Manage accounts payable and facilitate vendor relationships and communication
- Oversee accounts receivable and collection efforts
- Process commissions and fees for Broker Dealer and RIA operations (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis)
- Assist with payroll processing
- Contribute to audit preparation and external audit support
- Support client accounting functions as needed
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software (Sage Intacct is a plus)
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Flexible and collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
