Utilization Review Coordinator

Peachford Hospital is searching for a talented Utilization Review (UR) Coordinator with experience in behavioral health to work with our Utilization Review Team to promote continued length of stay for our patients.

What Role Will You Play?

UR Coordinators proactively monitor the utilization of services and optimize reimbursement for the patient and the hospital. Having an understanding and an ability to communicate insurance information to team members, including benefits and levels of care offered, will help to make you successful in this role.

This position is on-site. Remote work options are not available.

This position is not a nursing-based role and does not require an RN license.

What Will You Get To Do?

UR Coordinators are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:

  • Lead and participate in the operations of daily inter-disciplinary treatment teams to gain knowledge of patient needs and progress.
  • Conduct length of stay reviews on assigned patients with third party payers.
  • Prepare and submit appeals to third party payers, to support continued length of stay based on the hospital and patient’s position.
  • Work directly with Assessment and Referral Services to stay abreast of admissions and/or pending authorizations.
  • Communicate pertinent third party payer issues to doctor and treatment team.

Work independently in gathering information for reviews from the patient record, taking the initiative to seek information from members of the treatment team.

What Does Peachford Require for this Role?

A bachelor’s degree and at least two years utilization management experience in a behavior health or addictive disease facility is required. Relevant work experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
