The Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education is responsible for administrative management and oversight of the school. Responsibilities include supporting the health, safety, and quality of education for infants through PreK students. Collaboration with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly taught and that the needs of the students are met appropriately would be a daily task. An ideal candidate has very good technology skills, and knows how to use Google Docs - experience using ProCare software is also a plus! Good customer service skills are needed to interact with our families daily. Our Christian environment promotes service to others, kindness, and honoring God in all that we do. This position is full time and the salary is based on experience, education level and ability to do the job. There are opportunities to advance into a variety of career pathways within our preschool and K-12 sister school. An outgoing personality would be extremely helpful.
Duties
- Welcome and greet visitors and parents
- Assist teachers with using tablets in the classroom to record learning activities and the daily schedule.
- Assume duties of Center Director and Teachers as needed during their absence.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with Center guidelines and state and local requirements; implement improvements where needed.
- Maintain communication with families and the community through appropriate outreach activities.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
2 years of professional experience in an early childhood setting is preferred, but not required if you enjoy working with others and take initiative.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Work well with other team members
- Must clear full background check.
- Being a problem solver is important!
Nice To Haves
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Knowledge of Procare Software
Experience working with Google docs
