Covet.PDX, the signature restaurant at Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland, is seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented AM Server to join our dynamic team. As an AM Server, you will be the face of our vibrant morning dining experience, providing exceptional service and ensuring our guests start their day on a high note. Key Responsibilities
- Guest Service Excellence: Greet guests warmly, establish rapport, and deliver prompt, attentive service in alignment with Hyatt Centric’s friendly, free-spirited brand voice.
- Order Management: Accurately take and input food and beverage orders into the POS system, ensuring special requests and dietary needs are communicated effectively to the kitchen.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain thorough knowledge of menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage pairings, to confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations.
- Table Maintenance: Ensure tables are clean, well-set, and properly maintained throughout service, promptly addressing guest needs or concerns.
- Upselling: Maximize revenue opportunities by suggesting additional items such as beverages, sides, and specials.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, bussers, and other servers to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Compliance: Follow all food safety, sanitation, and liquor handling regulations, as well as hotel and restaurant policies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience as a server in a full-service restaurant or hospitality environment preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities. A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Appearance: Maintain a professional and polished appearance in line with Hyatt Centric’s standards.
- Flexibility: Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
