PCS Industrial Services Direct Support Professional
Job Description: Assist with all aspects of PCS Industrial Services operations and Community Based Enclaves. Provide Direct Support to clients performing work in the PCS Industrial Services operations and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED. Must possess a valid Indiana Driver’s License and valid auto insurance, may be required to possess a valid For-Hire endorsement, have a safe driving record, and pass required background checks. Experience in an industrial setting is helpful. Job requires personal flexibility, the ability to relate with a wide range of people, a high degree of physical activity and good communication skills.

Working conditions: While working, you may be required to deal with the following conditions: 1) possible exposure to blood borne pathogens; 2) possible exposure to profanity, violent and/or offensive behavior from the clients; and 3) variable hours depending on job or job location.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Must: 1) be able to lift up to 70 lbs., walk, bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, pull, squat, turn in the knees, back, wrists and shoulders and grasp with both hand (in order to properly perform the techniques taught in CPR/First Aid, Client Intervention Techniques and Lifting and Carrying Techniques). 2) Must have normal hearing, with the aid of corrective devices, as needed (i.e., hearing aid). Must have normal vision, with the aid of corrective devices, as needed (i.e., glasses or contacts). 3) Must be free from fainting spells, blackouts, dizziness, or seizures. 4)Must have the ability to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods. 5)Must have the ability to endure extended periods of driving. 6) Must have the ability to tolerate exposure to dust, gas, and/or fumes. 7) Must have the ability to exert up to 20-50 pounds of force, occasionally, and/or 10-26 pounds of force frequently. 8) Must be able to speak, read and write in English 9) Must be able to complete the Peak Community Services training programs and successfully pass associated test to meet competency requirements. 10) Must have basic computer skills including, but not limited to, sending and receiving e-mail, accessing web page, entering basic data, use of the Time Keeping System, and common use applications. 11) Some positions require that employees must be able to pass a TB test. 12) Must be able to carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the supervision of sub-contract work, as assigned by PCS Industrial Services Manager, to include: teaching specified client(s) new jobs, encourage quality and quantity of their work by routinely checking work for conformance to standards, assist with the job set-up and quality checks, complete final packaging and record daily time and production records.
2. Inspect finished products and products in process following customer requirements and using statistical sampling techniques to evaluate the quality of products.
3. Make sure that products created by clients meet and maintain ISO standards and also meet the expectations of the customers.
4. Maintain conformance with CARF and all applicable standards, rules, regulations, laws and administrative codes.
5. May be required to drive agency vehicles applying knowledge of For-Hire endorsement regulations and safe vehicle operating procedures to transfer sub-contract goods and materials between agency workshop, customers or specified destinations.
6. When supervising clients, monitor behavior, safety or policy violations and communicate to appropriate supervisor.
7. Operate lift truck and/or pallet mover to load and unload agency truck and other commercial trucks, as required.
8. May be required to train and certify clients and PCS Industrial Service staff in lift truck and pallet mover operation.
9. Maintain a clean and orderly shipping/receiving area, as well as storage area for raw and finished sub-contract material, and oversee the cleaning of client work areas at conclusion of the shift.
10. May be responsible for client annual documentation, monthly documentation, and attending annual meetings.
11. May be required to perform vehicle inspection checks on a monthly basis and record on vehicle inspection report form. Maintain a vehicle service log and report vehicle problems to PCS Industrial Services Manager.
12. Prepare finished products for shipment by packaging or palletizing.
13. May be responsible for the interior and exterior cleanliness of the agency truck.
14. Use electronic scale to count parts on incoming and outgoing shipments, as needed or directed by PCS Industrial Services Manager.
15. Inform PCS Industrial Services Manager of special concerns, safety issues and supply/equipment need.
16. May be required to schedule routine and emergency truck maintenance with approval given by PCS Industrial Services Manager
17. Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
18. Act as an advocate for clients, support agency objectives and adhere to agency policies and procedures.
19. Communicate incidents of special behavior plans of designated adults in accordance with treatment team, both verbally and by recording special incident or accident forms.
20. Assist in the implementation of downtime activities in the absence of sufficient sub-contract work.
21. Attend staff meetings and in-service training activities.
22. May be required to assist PCS Industrial Services Manage with time study and creating job processes.
23. Support agency objectives and conform to agency employment policies and regulations.
24. Perform other duties as assigned.

Behavior Development –Serve as a role model and mentor, demonstrating the desired behaviors and coaching the client using approved techniques and strategies; use approved physical intervention techniques when they are necessary to protect clients and others.
Operational Support –Maintains cleanliness of program area; provides transportation for clients to their activities; completes tasks that are beyond the client’s abilities; follows procedures for handling money.
Professional Behavior –Acts in a professional manner and communicates effectively with others; completes all required training programs, at least 24 hours annually; attends required meetings.
