We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling efficiently, ensuring optimal use of time slots and resources.
- Verify insurance information and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries.
- Review and maintain accurate documentation for patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record systems to retrieve patient information.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing them with necessary information regarding their appointments and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of medical charts and ensure all necessary documentation is completed prior to patient visits.
- Support clinical staff by coordinating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment to promote a professional atmosphere.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Office Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, including familiarity with ICD-9 coding.
- Proficient in using medical scheduling systems and electronic health record software (experience with ModMed and E-clinical Works is a plus).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is an advantage.
