About the Job:
As a Reliability Test Engineer at Peak Energy, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the dependability and performance of our Sodium-Ion battery storage systems. You will be responsible for identifying risks and then designing, implementing, and conducting tests to ensure the durability, performance, and reliability of products, components, or systems. Analyze failure modes, optimize testing procedures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and lifespan. This role requires strong ownership of reliability testing processes, ensuring accountability for test execution, data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives. We are open to all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Define Peak's reliability strategy and design test plans and protocols to evaluate product reliability and performance.
- Perform analyses of Sodium-Ion battery systems and components to identify potential performance and reliability weaknesses.
- Conduct environmental, mechanical, and electrical stress testing. Design and oversee testing procedures to ensure battery systems meet requirements under various conditions.
- Utilize testing methods such as Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS), and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) analysis.
- Use statistical tools such as Weibull analysis, Six Sigma, and reliability modeling to predict product lifespan.
- Analyze reliability data and trends to predict potential issues and inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform root cause analysis on system failures and develop corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues.
- Maintain detailed records of reliability tests, analyses, and corrective actions. Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop Design for Reliability (DfR) guidelines.
- Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate reliability considerations into the product development lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably within the battery storage or renewable energy sectors.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, including FMEA, fault tree analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools. Experience with reliability software and tools is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
