Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant at Peak ENT Associates], you will play a vital role in providing support to our Otolaryngologists and delivering high-quality patient care. You will work closely with both medical and administrative staff to ensure a smooth patient experience, maintain accurate medical records, and assist with clinical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:

- Greet and prepare patients for examination, including taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist the Otolaryngologist during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Provide patient education on post-operative care, medications, and treatment plans.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under physician supervision.
- Assist with documentation and medical record completion.
Clinical Support:

- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are properly stocked and sanitized.
- Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment.
- Perform basic clinical procedures, such as wound dressings and suture removal.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for patients.
Administrative Tasks:

- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing and coding processes.
- Answer patient inquiries, provide information, and handle phone calls.
- Assist with office organization and ensure efficient workflow.
Compliance and Safety:

- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Assist with quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a medical assistant training program or relevant certification.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably in Otolaryngology.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and ENT-specific instruments.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Proficiency in typing with a minimum words per minute of 50.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction.
- Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic CPR certification (may be required).
