What You'll Do

The Account Manager- Food Service is responsible for the overall health and growth of assigned key food service accounts. These accounts are lifetime value customers that require excellent customer service and attention to detail. The Account Manager holds a proactive role responsible for in-depth knowledge of each business unit's buying behaviors including monitoring sales activities from initiation through close. Responsibilities include answering a high volume of calls and emails, entering and updating orders in our computer system, troubleshooting inventory questions, visiting customers and new food service business units to establish relationships, and meeting with clients in our showroom. This position works collaboratively with other sales consultants as well as various departments to achieve customer satisfaction. The Account Manager-Food Services is responsible for strengthening customer relationships, growing assigned accounts, generating revenue, and achieving long-term goals that are in line with company vision and values, with a proven track record of sales ranging between $3M-5.5M .

This position can be based out of our Boston, Newport RI or Woburn locations.

The Day-to-Day

  • Directly responsible for the satisfaction of assigned key accounts- our relationships mean the world to us
  • Proactively meets with key accounts to showcase equipment, set up demo days, offer suggestions and growth strategies that strengthen the partnership YoY
  • Conduct quarterly or annual account reviews
  • Closely monitors client perception and feedback
  • Answer phones / emails, create customer orders and assist customers with order design, order changes and questions
  • Proactively maintain and expand strategic accounts with client research, tailored sales materials, and consistent relationship building
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales revenue targets by developing a book of business growth plan
  • Meet or exceed prospecting and networking activity expectations
  • Update CRM daily / weekly with regard to leads, opportunities and tasks
  • Consult with clients to determine event details and rental needs
  • Identify and manage target client prospects by being in the know when new business units pop up
  • Prepare all customer quotes and follow up within 72 hours
  • Prepare and enter customer orders and production schedules / timelines, verify entered orders for accuracy, complete all revisions / additions
  • Participate and share experiences in weekly sales meetings
  • Identify leads, close sales, manage prospects and acquire new business
  • Conduct showroom appointments and assist with showroom visitors
  • Master order entry software including delivery, return, and labor pricing and billing procedures
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot rental inventory issues
  • Educate and inform customers about all rental items available and cross-sell all company products
  • Understand and respect the confidentiality of client and company information
  • Establish yourself as a trustworthy member of the sales team across all departments
  • Some weekends required for appointments, site visits and installations
  • Attend a minimum of one industry networking event per month to build relationships and identify opportunities
  • Offer guidance and solutions to junior inside sales team as needed
  • Work with senior management to develop strategies and achieve sales goals

This position reports directly to the Director of Sales. Clear communication skills, the willingness to become a team player and help out when needed is the kind of attitude that’s required to be successful in this position. Our management style is a team approach to problem-solving.

It is especially important for the person functioning in this position to develop trust within the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Departments. Honoring commitments made to customers by our sales team is critical to maintaining our industry reputation for high-quality products and service. You will be involved on a daily basis with fulfilling those commitments.

What We're Looking For

  • 5-7 years of hospitality sales experience with a caterer, food service provider, venue, or hotel
  • Experience with Account Management for a food service provider or national catering company a plus
  • Complex knowledge of catering equipment strongly desired
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar revenue goals
  • A proven past in pre-planning, site inspections, financial details, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and diagrams
  • Ability to analyze account data and see account strategies
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday (rotating 2 Saturdays a month)
  • Proficient with computers (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Passion for customer satisfaction and contributing to the success of a team
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Hospitality degree is a plus
