What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mix Room Operator - 2nd Shift position at Peak Foods?
Summary: The Mix Room Operator is responsible for the batching of specific ingredients per designated formula using an automated batching system. The Operator is also responsible for weighing said ingredients by hand and adding at required times throughout the batching process. Accurate recording of activities on documents, and the understanding of HACCP, pasteurization, sanitation, allergens and all food safety programs are required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
o Duties and tasks as assigned by manager
o Food Safety responsibilities
o Comply with all Company policies including, but not limited to, Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMP's, HAACP, and Attendance.
o Perform duties accurately and on a timely basis in accordance to the published production schedule as well as verbal instruction.
o Understand and follow procedures of the department for use of the department's equipment.
o Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices for the care, handling and storage of food products; and report any known or observed violations to management. Utilize HACCP philosophy and procedures in everyday work routine.
o Supply batch/ingredient test samples as required.
o Follow and enforce safety procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
o Experience in mix batching operations, or the ability to achieve through OJT
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as: Food Safety procedures, safety procedures, understand requirements as set forth through product formula.
o Ability to interface with automated batching system and inventory/lot code tracking.
o Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy
o Work with a team, and as a team member
o Complete all tasks as assigned with-in mix department or other.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
o Noise level above 80 decibels – hearing protection required
o Lift up to 55 LBS -steel toed, non-slip shoes required
o Environmental temperatures range: 70 to 80 degrees
o Stand on a consistent basis throughout an 8 to 10 hr. shift
o Go up and down stairs to mix batching tanks frequently throughout shift.

o Reports to: Senior Operation’s Manager, Production Supervisor, Filler Room Group Leader
