Job Title: Reefer Technician
Responsibilities:
- Performing preventative maintenance procedures and repairs on Thermo King, Carrier and other refrigeration equipment for trucks, trailers and containers with little or no supervision
- Diagnose and repair/replace compressors, coils, electrical components, etc…
- Use diagnostic equipment to flash controller, diagnose alarms, implement repairs, etc…
- Use repair orders to record all work performed and submit on a daily basis
- Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner
- Follow established procedures to track work and complete forms connected with work assignments
- Ensure timely completion of work according to company regulations and procedures, and instruction from Lead, Supervisor, or Manager
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience with transport refrigeration or heavy truck repair with diesel engine and mobile air conditioning repair experience.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the employer's insurance policy
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local government and company standards for reliability and safety
- Familiar with Thermo King, Carrier, and other transport refrigeration equipment
- Have good verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Certified to use refrigerants, R134a, R404, R410, and others as needed
- May be required to use a laptop computer to diagnose and/or reference repair manuals
- Must be willing to be in an emergency after-hours on-call rotation
- Willingness to perform additional duties/assignments as may be required by management
