What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power Plant Engineer position at Peak Performance Recruitment?
Primary Responsibilities:
Engine Inspection and Maintenance:
- Coordinate and oversee pre-purchase engine inspections.
- Review and create engine shop work scopes.
- Manage engine shop visits, including work scopes for module repairs and full engine overhauls.
- Oversee teardown line flow for engines such as CFM56 and V2500.
Project Management:
- Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts, purchase orders, and repair orders for shop visits.
- Prepare monthly project status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for value engineering and scope reduction.
- Ensure project plans are completed and communicated to team members and subcontractors.
- Monitor contract terms, budgets, insurance, bonds, and change orders, ensuring work progress aligns with project scope.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Define project vision, standards, and agreements.
- Recommend staff development, disciplinary actions, job assignments, and promotions.
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects with distributed teams in fast-paced environments.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop detailed project roadmaps, release plans, resource allocations, funding requests, communication strategies, risk management plans, test plans, and defect resolution frameworks.
- Track and update project progress, resource utilization, change requests, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure clear definition and delivery of project documentation and key deliverables.
- Interface with stakeholders across all management levels to align project priorities with business needs.
Vendor and Client Relations:
- Serve as the liaison between internal business units and third-party vendors.
- Apply business analysis techniques for requirement gathering, scoping, system design, testing, and implementation.
- Maintain timely and professional communication with customers and internal teams via phone and email.
- Foster and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
