The primary responsibility for this position is managing all technical aspects of aircrafts, engines and components as it relates to OEM data, Maintenance Planning & Control and Technical records. The Technical Director supports the entire sales, acquisition and consulting team by providing sound technical advice, research and insights, including but not limited to build specifications, visits to client and maintenance facilities, technical research, technical presentations, logbooks and maintenance reports.
Specific Responsibilities
Review, authorize and perform regular audits of aircraft records and data analysis
Maintain, plan, and lead maintenance programs
Maintenance, upgrades, and conversion planning
Participate in aircraft pre-buy projects including but not limited to attending briefings and test flight
Perform on-site aircraft evaluations and in-depth records review
Develop work scopes for both aircrafts bought and sold
Build detailed specifications for use in sales and marketing processes
Build and maintain a database for all maintenance and technical related information
Evaluate aircrafts technically and financially including the impact of repairs, maintenance, damages, avionics upgrades, and other maintenance activities
Assist in the understanding of company aircrafts with technical and maintenance knowledge base
Assist all departments within the organization as needed
Qualifications
- Associates degree in a Technical field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years in a technical position with an airline or aircraft engine maintenance facility
- A&P License a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Occasional travel, domestic and international
