Educational Graphic Designer

Bring Texas' aquatic science to life by creating dynamic educational materials, from an interactive eBook to captivating demonstration videos filmed in state parks. This role is perfect for a creative storyteller with a passion for design, video production, and making learning visually engaging.

Who You Will Be Working With

This agency’s mission is to manage and conserve the many natural and cultural resources that the Lone Star State offers. They provide hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreational opportunities for the use and enjoyment of Texans. Major Duties

• In adherence to accessibility standards, produce a 14 chapter eBook for the Texas Aquatic Science program (90% of job).
• Create, shoot, and edit demonstration videos at State Parks to support lessons (10% of jobs).
• May assist with the design of Teacher Guide, Student Workbook, student worksheets, and creation of related media.
  
  

What are we looking for?

Required:

• Edit and format content into teachable, engaging lessons that are graphically appealing.
• Proficiency with Mac systems, including iMovie and iPages.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Skill in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• May attend occasional meetings and departmental events, which may include travel
• Travel to State Parks in a personal vehicle will be required.
• Proficiency in graphic design software is required.
• Will require a portfolio submission demonstrating the above skills.
  
  

Preferred:

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a degree in a field related to Education, Natural Sciences, Creative or Graphic Design, Outdoor Recreation, or related degree.
• Two years’ experience working with youth in the area of natural resource education or interpretation, exhibit development, teaching, or closely related field.

• Rate: $32.00 per hour
• Length of engagement: March 17, 2025 - Aug 31, 2025
• Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
