The Team You Will Be Joining
You'll be part of a team that administers a pension system for emergency services departments across the state.
Major Duties
- Research discrepancies in accounts, bank statements, or appropriation balances
- Assisting Accounting Firm with processing invoices, balances financial and accounting documents and records
- Prepare, review, and process journal entries in Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) and in the Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS)
- Responds to inquiries concerning invoices, Revenue metrics and direct deposits
- Performs related work as assigned to meet agency goals.
- Accounting Education and/ or professional experience in General Accounting/ Bookkeeping functions
- Experience in State of Texas USAS and CAPPS systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Strong data entry experience with skill in 10 Key
- Effective customer service and communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Rate: $26.00 per hour
- Length of Engagement: May 1st -May31st with potential for extension or to apply for Temp or Perm placement.
- Days/Hours: M-F; 8-5
- Location: Austin, TX 78701
