Clinical Nurse Supervisor - Ambulatory Surgery Center
Outpatient surgical center located in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Supervisor to join our team. Clinical Nurse Supervisor will play a crucial role in the development and overall operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center specializing in ophthalmic services.
Reporting to, and working alongside the Administrator, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor will be involved in the development of a top-notch ambulatory surgery center with the latest technology along with building a talented and experienced team. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor will ensure high accountability for achieving goals and desired outcomes including patient and staff and physician satisfaction, quality outcomes, financial performance, regulatory readiness, and growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clinical Nurse Supervisor will demonstrate the ability to handle the daily management of the center and can handle stressful situations.
- Assumes a leadership role in the ASC and is responsible for planning, organizing, and delegating the services of the center in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of all job functions in the Pre-Op, PACU, OR and Procedure Room.
- Works with physicians to evaluate and enhance the patient experience at the Center.
- Establishes goals, objectives, and performance standards for clinical personnel.
- Manages personnel that includes coaching, counseling, performance appraisals and the initiation of corrective action when necessary to ensure ongoing demonstration of the organization’s values.
- Establishes staffing patterns based on surgery schedule to ensure the safety of the patients and promote the highest staff efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Ensures staff orientation and competency.
- Ensuring and maintaining educational requirements for clinical staff.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills both written and verbal, possess high level management skills, mathematical computation skills, and familiarity with all patient care equipment and products.
- Prepares reports, maintains records, compiles statistics, etc. as required.
- Identifies performance improvement issues and develops Performance Improvement plan to facilitate improvement.
- Demonstrates strong financial acumen and innovative approaches to engage staff in reducing waste and enhancing value for patients.
- Practices cost containment techniques with equipment and supplies.
- Communicates with the Administrator regarding any managerial, clinical issues, or changes.
- Works in conjunction with area specific managers to ensure on-going quality patient care.
- Promotes a high degree of cooperation, communication and coordination with other employees and physicians.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current nursing license in the State of Colorado, BSN preferred.
- Five or more years of clinical nursing experience, preferably operating room, and ambulatory surgery center experience.
- Minimum of two years of management experience in an operating room setting.
- Knowledge of the standards, regulations and laws affecting Ambulatory Surgery Center operation to include Colorado Department of Health Services Rules and Regulations, CMS, QuadA.
- BLS and ACLS certification required
