POSITION: Corporate Buyer/Planner (with Project Management experience)
REPORTS TO: Vice President Operations and Program Management FLSA: Exempt
SUMMARY: The role is primarily responsible for assuring that procurement activity results in on time shipments to customers and that the required level of materials is received on time meeting planning, scheduling and coordination of production for all companies. In addition to tactical procurement this role manages vendor relationships and must have strong business acumen for negotiations with vendors and development of suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Function):
• Responsible for overall planning, scheduling and coordination of production
• Organizes plans and prioritizes buying activities and executes them
• Develop and maintain supplier/vendor relationships
• Work with Engineering to source new components
• Ensure timely responses to internal and external customer inquiries
• Ability to evaluate vendor quotations utilizing appropriate negotiating and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, delivery, service and price
• Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, acceptability of items and specifications
• Prepares and issues purchase orders, change notices, and review requisitions for materials, equipment and supplies
• Creates and maintains vendor records; ensures accuracy of all vendor data in ERP system
• Track, organize, maintain and file documentation
• Assist with programs to improve supplier quality and dependability which affect cost of purchased items
• Process Manufacturing work orders in a timely manner
• Assess vendor performance in accordance with ISO standards
• May lead ISO Audit/Certifications for Moseley
• Take on and manage projects directly as required
• May back up export desk
REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Project Management experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Proven ability to research and apply critical information to evaluate product and conduct cost analysis for competitive pricing
• Ability to read, interpret drawings, prints, understands dimensions, tolerances, etc.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all functional levels within the organization
• Must understand hardware and component design/selection/evaluation
• Ability to maintain highest ethical and professional business conduct
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Program Management, business or related field and 5 years' experience in procurement and materials planning experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products with expertise experience in Excel
• Must have ERP systems experience
• Attention to detail to include accuracy and integrity of information

• Vision abilities require the ability to adjust focus and ability to focus at a computer screen for long periods of time. Clearly identify by sight numbers, symbols and letters with or without corrective lenses and may require close visual work at times.
• Employees may be required to push, pull, lift or carry 10-20 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach or stoop to retrieve items from shelves lower than the waist or from shelves above the shoulders
• Ability to converse and exchange information
• Must have ability to ascend/descend stairs
• Ability to sit and/or stand for 2/3 to ¾ of the day
• The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet with few distraction
