What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Maintenance Technician position at PEAK Technical Staffing USA?
- Perform routine repairs and maintain all equipment to enhance efficiency and prevent malfunctions that could lead to production downtime and costly repairs
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate source of problems by examining equipment and mechanical devices
- Assist in line changes and process improvements
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop equipment
- Clean equipment, lubricate moving parts, change fluids, modify equipment and replace parts and components as required
- Maintain records of all maintenance activities
- Conduct preventive maintenance measures on structures, equipment, electrical, plumbing as well as facilities
- Control downtime by informing production employees of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitor compliance
- Support and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and training production employees on efficient operation and basic routine maintenance procedures
- Maintain positive work environment by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with co-workers, customers, clients and management
- Maintain safe and clean work environment
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Journeyman's Card required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial maintenance technician role, preferably in manufacturing with experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience
- Highly motivated, energetic, and reliable
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance techniques
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Working knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques
- Previous experience in the distilled spirits industry
While performing duties of job, employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment
- Stand constantly and/or move in and around work areas
- Climb ladders/catwalks/equipment, stoop, bend, and/or crawl
- Work at elevated heights more than 5 feet above floor level
- Work in awkward positions and tight areas
- Lift 50 lbs. frequently and 80 lbs. occasionally
- Have adequate near vision to read gauges, controls, knobs, levers and CRT's
- Ability to identify color
- Paid Vacation:
- After 6 months continuous service – 1 week
- 1 to 8 years of service – 2 weeks
- 9 to 14 years of service – 3 weeks
