This role involves quoting custom equipment and understanding customer processes. The Project Engineer will engage with customers and sales teams both remotely and onsite, managing projects ranging from several thousand to several million dollars.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and understand detailed customer specifications, applying key requirements to the project design; update and modify quote forms, specifications, and URS documents to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
- Quickly process customer inquiries, inputs, and RFQs to create technical and commercial proposals.
- Prepare data sheets and detailed equipment specifications based on customer needs.
- Attend kick-off meetings to transfer pre-sale knowledge to the sustainment engineering team.
- Prepare costs by contacting suppliers, clarifying technical requirements, and collaborating with the Purchasing Department to select suppliers and manufacture third-party equipment; maintain the detailed project schedule and cost tracking documentation.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers, sub-suppliers, and internal stakeholders, including written follow-up on all official contract notifications, document submittals, change requests, and information requests; ensure timely followup on all communications.
- Travel as required to customer offices and/or job sites.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in engineered systems projects; project management and estimating experience is a plus.
- Ability to analyze and understand detailed customer specifications.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and developing engineering drawings, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, general arrangement and plant layout drawings, piping drawings, equipment data sheets, and other technical documentation.
- Skilled in writing proposals and general business correspondence, including technical statements.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interactions with customers, sub-suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the plastics industry and extrusion is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); working knowledge of SolidWorks is required.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
