Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Piping Engineer to join our team in the food and beverage sector. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, installing, and maintaining piping systems that meet industry standards, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of liquids and gases within food and beverage processing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop piping systems for food and beverage applications, adhering to sanitary and hygienic standards.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate system requirements and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Create detailed piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material specifications using CAD software.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of piping systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, project managers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Perform pressure drop calculations, thermal expansion analysis, and system stress analysis to ensure structural integrity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including adherence to FDA, USDA, and 3-A standards, as applicable.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to piping systems to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including as-built drawings, specifications, and maintenance records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in piping design and engineering, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
- Proficiency in piping design software, such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of sanitary piping standards and food-grade materials.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations (e.g., ASME B31.3, 3-A Standards, FDA requirements).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems and other sanitary design principles.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics principles related to food and beverage processing.
