Structural Engineer

We are looking for a motivated individual to help support and grow our existing customer base.

Looking for technical expertise in Wood Trusses and Jobsite experience.

This candidate will perform structural analysis and design, work with CAD and associated programs for analysis of structures, review customer wood component design submittals, create and review design parameters for customer base as required, prepare and correct drawings for review and certification. This position will report to the Engineering Manager.

Must have at least an EIT with intentions of obtaining a PE

Additional Job Responsibilities

• Review work done by design and engineering staff for accuracy and seal completed work.
• Works with other PEs and Engineering Manager to coordinate workflow, lead and/or contribute to the design of residential/multi-family structural documents.
• Coordinates design modifications and reviews proper design procedures with customers.
• Assist customers in troubleshooting issues and design problems.
• Coordinate and communicate with Architects/Designers, Truss Manufacturers, MEP Trades, General Contractors and Field Project Managers
• Perform structural analysis of frame and masonry building components including foundations, wall and roof structures, evaluating loading cases
• Support in the development of construction drawings and specifications
• Design field modifications on components.
  
  

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 4 years experience related to structural/residential engineering work
• Knowledge of building codes and standards such as IBC, ASC, AISC and ACI
• Experience with multiple structural design software
• General knowledge of the construction industry
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with ability to acquire more state licenses as needed.
• Practical application of engineering means and methods resulting in field friendly solutions whenever possible
• Strong verbal, written and communication skills
