Laborer - Underground Utilities

Job Requirements:

We are seeking a motivated and physically fit Skilled Laborer to join our underground utilities team at Peak Utility Services Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting crew leaders in various tasks, including construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work. If you have experience working with underground utilities, possess excellent communication skills, and are able to work well in a team environment, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Assist equipment operators with tasks such as swamping, hand digging, and locating underground obstructions.
• Operate specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners, and other necessary tools.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Ensure construction sites are clean and prepared to eliminate possible hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the crew leader.

Requirements:

• Able to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift.
• Able to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
• Able to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
• Able to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers.
• Able to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy.
• English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports.
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills.
