At Peak Utility Services Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and physically capable Skilled Laborer to join our underground utilities team. This individual will assist crew leaders in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work, while ensuring the safety of themselves and their colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist equipment operators with tasks such as swamping, hand digging, and locating underground obstructions.
- Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners, and other necessary tools.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Complete duties as assigned by the crew leader.
Requirements:
- Able to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
- Able to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift.
- Able to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
- Able to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
- Able to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers.
- Able to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy.
- English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports.
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills.
