Who We're Looking For:
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our Team immediately as an Audio-Visual (AV) Technician. The Audio-Visual Technician (AVT) is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties. This position is the key field position to help with the installation efforts for various projects. The AVT must be able to work independently or with the Lead Engineer to complete installations at customer facilities. They will need to be able to interpret our drawing packages to create the basis of the finished systems. This installation can include displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, etc.
DoD security clearance is not required but must be willing to obtain.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Physical installation of a wide variety of technology into a wide variety of locations
- Be able to terminate all wire and connector types and ability to test completed terminations
- Support the preparation of equipment racks for staging of equipment wire lacing including installation of power strips, grounding bars, jack-fields, etc.
- Able to read and understand design drawings as well as cable riser diagrams and all architectural drawings.
- Able to mount equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers’ microphones, and projectors.
- Familiarity with Extron and Crestron.
- Maintain an organized work environment.
Travel:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence.
- Employee will be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate.
- Local travel to job sites (within a 2-hour driving distance each way) will make up 90%
Education/Certifications:
- Basic Networking knowledge desired
- 3 years in the Audio-Visual or Electronics Field
- AVIXA CTS Certification is highly desired
- Other relevant certifications may be required or preferred based on the technology focus of the position.
Security Clearance:
- None required. Secret preferred.
Required/Designed Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Excellent Verbal and Written English Skills. Good customer service skills
- Field installation experience.
- Be familiar with audio, video and network-based systems and equipment
Additional Qualifications:
• A willingness to learn and develop further technical expertise.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (sponsorship available).
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Ability to assemble/disassemble equipment, sit or stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites (approximately 25%).
