What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial & Data Analyst position at PEAKE?
PEAKE is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial and Data Analyst to support our Communication Services, and Accounting departments. This individual will be responsible for managing our cellular and satellite services accounts, service and renewal invoicing, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring financial accuracy in carrier-related expenses. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial analysis, telecom expense management, and carrier billing processes, enabling them to provide actionable insights and cost optimization strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Review & Reconciliation
· Audit and process carrier service invoices for accuracy and contract compliance.
· Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, overages, and disputed charges.
· Track recurring charges, usage fees, and rate adjustments to ensure proper financial tracking.
Carrier Expense Management
· Analyze telecom and carrier service costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
· Maintain detailed records of expenses, cost allocations, and chargebacks.
· Collaborate with procurement, finance, and communication services teams to optimize telecom spending.
Billing Disputes & Vendor Coordination
· Work with carriers to resolve billing disputes and negotiate credits.
· Ensure service providers adhere to contracted pricing and service agreements.
· Monitor contract renewals and pricing changes to avoid unnecessary costs.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
· Generate financial reports on carrier expenses, trends, and budget forecasting.
· Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.
· Assist in month-end and year-end financial close processes.
Data Analysis & Insights
· Develop data models to track key financial and operational metrics.
· Utilize data visualization tools to present findings and trends to leadership.
· Support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
· Work closely with a ccounting to ensure financial data integrity and alignment with budget goals.
Service Contracts & Renewal Invoicing
· Track and manage service contracts for existing public safety and federal customers.
· Issue invoices for service contract renewals and ensure timely payments.
· Handle customer inquiries regarding service contracts, renewals, and billing questions.
· Monitor accounts receivable (AR), track outstanding invoices, and follow up on past-due accounts.
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure service continuity and proper contract execution.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
· Provide financial and data analysis support to Communication Services and Accounting departments.
· Assist in evaluating new service offerings, pricing models, and operational efficiencies.
· Contribute to forecasting and budget planning efforts across multiple departments.
· Process activation of service contracts for new customer accounts.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
· 2 years of experience in financial analysis, telecom billing, carrier services, or a similar role.
· Strong knowledge of carrier contracts, telecom invoices, and expense management tools.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial reporting tools, and data analytics platforms.
· Experience working with TEM (Telecom Expense Management) software is a plus.
· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
· Industry certifications in Telecom Expense Management (TEM) or Data Analytics.
