Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will assist in managing bi-weekly payroll processing for North American employees. Working closely with a Senior Payroll Specialist, this role also provides support for leave administration and ensuring accurate tracking and compliance with leave policies. The ideal candidate has Experience in Payroll, is proactive and detailoriented, and is motivated to expand their expertise in payroll and leave administration. Familiarity with payroll databases, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively are essential. We encourage and support continuing education and certifications, such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), to help the Payroll Specialist grow within our team.

- Experience with payroll software; familiarity with ADP WorkforceNow or is a plus
- Strong preference for experience in payroll reporting, data management, and leave tracking
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for North American employees, with the support of the Senior Payroll Specialist
- Review and verify payroll data, such as hours, deductions, benefits, and taxes
- Assist in administering employee leave, including tracking and reporting leave balances, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Resolve payroll and leave-related discrepancies, and respond to employee and manager inquiries
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports, such as W-2s, 1099s, and 941s
- Maintain payroll and leave records in compliance with audit requirements and company policies
- Assist with the transition to Dayforce, including testing, data migration, and training
- Support the Director of Culture and Talent and Senior Payroll Specialist with special projects, such as year-end processing, payroll and leave audits, and process improvements
- Coordinate with accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll reporting and reconciliation
- Manage payroll-related documentation and handle department mail
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-7 years of experience in payroll, accounts receivable, or accounts payable roles
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus, and support for certification is available
- Experience with HRIS system transitions or implementations, particularly with ADP WorkforceNow or Dayforce, is preferred
- Familiarity with leave administration policies and practices is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
