Description
We are seeking a Shipping Specialist to join our order fulfillment team. In this role, you will review orders ready for shipment, verify accuracy of items and quantities, ensure the shipment is packed and labeled based on customers’ requirements. Will select best carrier, generate shipping labels and documents for shipment.
Shipping Clerk Responsibilities:
- Manages the shipment of orders and packages via selected carriers.
- Builds and maintains relationship with all carries who provide logistic services to company.
- Negotiates with all primary carriers for competitive and favorable tariffs.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips and BOL.
- Schedule shipment with selected carrier.
- Collaborates and communicates with Sales, Customer, service providers, and others involved in the shipment of products.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of outgoing shipments.
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily shipments.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Sort packages into the proper area for shipping
- Answer calls regarding shipping inquiries
- Provides additional backup support for logistic department.
Requirements
- Experience in shipping and receiving
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency
- Able to work independently and within a team
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 1 year logistics, distribution, or customer service experience
- Forklift Certification within 90 days of job entry date
- Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment is preferred
Salary : $17 - $20
